About Ben

Ben received his degree from Mitchell College, majoring in Business Administration and minoring in History & Government. He was disappointed that despite the significant Jewish population on campus, there was nothing bringing the community together. Ben founded the Hillel, which quickly became a top club during his tenure as president. There, Ben learned more about the value of community engagement that meets people's diverse needs.

Ben is greatly concerned about the increased cost of living exacerbated by our housing crisis. He is a passionate pro-housing advocate because too many New Yorkers are being priced out of the city they love. In 2021, Ben joined the Four Freedoms Democratic Club, where as a board member, he has fought for inclusion and transparency. Over the last two years Ben has volunteered for several local Democratic candidates because he believes that grassroots energy fuels democratic success.

District Leader

So, what is a District Leader? District Leaders are volunteer Democratic Party officials. They do the hard work of registering voters, recruiting poll workers, and organizing campaign events.

District Leaders also sit on the executive committee of the county Democratic Party where they vote on endorsements, elect leadership, and guide the direction of the local Party.
